I was a little nervous to do so, but I allowed Olivia to walk with Isaac to Jolley's and Emigration Market on Valentine's Day. Olivia had my cell phone so she could call me on the land line if needed. Soon enough I got the first call, asking if bubble gum counted as candy, since I told her she couldn't buy any treats (we had plenty and we were making cookies later). I told her sugar free bubblegum was fine. When they got back I was completely surprised that all they had bought was a sprig of berries for me at Jolley's. It was such a sweet Valentine surprise and melted my heart instantly. While they had been walking, Gracie had enthusiastically helped me clean the kitchen, discovering the "magic eraser" while carefully wiping all the counters. We all made cookies later, which turned out perfectly. Since the kids didn't have school on Monday or Tuesday, we (along with everyone else it seemed) went to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving point with our friends. Grace finally got better, but now Olivia is home sick. Lucky girl gets to take a warm bath, watch "Enchanted" and eat her lunch on a tray. More of that quality sick time. Isaac will probably be next. Thankfully it's nothing serious! This will be Olivia's first time missing school this year. In fact, it will be the first day any of my kids have missed a full day of school for 2008-2009.
