I don't have much to show for the last few months, so I'll skip to the last couple of weeks. We celebrated Easter one week early (since the kids were to be with their dad for Easter), and it was lovely in every way. The kids slept over at their SLC Aunt and Uncle's house on Friday, which used to be our house too. Sort of. And then if that wasn't enough - along with the French Toast on homemade bread for breakfast - that cool Aunt and Uncle, and Grandma too, created a very cool Easter Egg Hunt with lots of candy and money and extras. Thank you so, so much!
After the egg hunt, I actually took all three kids clothes shopping at a store (as opposed to a thrift store) for the first time ever I think. It went better than I imagined, by far. Even though I lost Grace about eleven times and the store manager was watching me (and following me) like a hawk. He kept asking me if I knew where my daughter was. One of the times she walked away from me pouting because I refused to buy her a pink denim jumper. When she wandered back, she had found a great ensemble that included a purse and a shawl. How different she is from me at that age. I hated shopping, and still only like it rarely. Maybe that's why I find it incredibly endearing to see her so into the whole shopping thing. I have a feeling I won't find it so endearing in ten years. Olivia is much more like me, but seemed to have fun picking out clothes with Isaac. We actually got out of the store with what we needed, and I was the first customer of the day who won a 30% discount on our purchase!
The girls insisted on sponge curlers Saturday night, so I indulged them (and me, I admit). I thought I might get only one or two pictures the next day, but after church the girls tossed their new shoes aside and wandered into the glen by our church. Isaac followed behind, shoes still attached to feet. From the other side of the creek I made good use of my huge zoom lens and shot away. The lighting was way less than ideal, but I took advantage of the spontaneity of the moment while it lasted.
Overall, it was a beautiful weekend. Who knows, maybe I'll even blog again soon about Olivia in Macbeth, and our birthday party (my sis and I).
