Olivia with young Tabitha, November 2008
I can't move on to the next birthday without taking a moment to honor Tabitha and her beautiful funeral. The day after Isaac's Birthday and Tabitha's death on June 26th, Olivia wanted to let go of her beloved animal with a proper burial service, so the family came together to support her. Thanks to Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Jack, we were able to bury Tabitha in a nice little place not far from home. Olivia was devastated, but having the service helped her move forward. Notice the messages on the shoe box from each person. Believe it or not, Tabitha truly was a sweet little creature. She was weaker than her cage companion, Snowball, who now lives a lonely life without her. Snowball was adopted first, so when Tabitha first arrived, Snowball made sure she felt at home, sheltering her and comforting her. They always got along well, even with their completely different personalities.

Rest in Peace, Tabitha. We know you were a rat, but you defied all thoughtless and unintelligent rumors about your species.
