Grandparents Rock and Ants Sleep

Just a quick one tonight. Isaac's 1st grade singing performance was called "Grandparents Rock". It was a brilliant idea, really. They had the kids interview their grandparents in preparing for the show, and then the kids told stories about them between little musical numbers, such as: "Grandma's Feather Bed", "Down on Grandpa's Farm", and some that I think the music teachers made up. My dad was able to come to a show performed at the school earlier, but my mom was out of town. It was a nice surprise to have Grandma Sue show up (their dad's mom), since she happened to be in town. Isaac was so excited! Olivia's 2nd grade show tomorrow is on habitats.

Olivia actually managed to create a mini habitat sometime between 6:00 and 6:30 this evening. she basically took an empty sprinkle container and collected ants. She added dirt, plants, and sugar of course. Tonight as we were getting to bed, she said "I know how ants sleep . . . they look like raisins. I observed them."
