What happened to December?

Jumping into the New Year was similar to the feeling of jumping into an ice cold pool for me, and I’m certain that I am going to be defrosting for a while – you know, that prolonged, painful sensation that occurs after the extremities have become frozen in a few brief moments. Yes, I think that describes these past two weeks well for me. I even prepared myself better than usual (I thought) for the after-holiday craziness, but I guess I just got a little too comfy over the break.

Here's a brief overview of our holidays:

December 12th - A successful Photo Card Open House, with a great little helper. Olivia even had her own little table to sell items, and did quite well.

December 18 – Youth City Copoeira and Drama Performance (That’s Isaac on his head, and Olivia is the blue fairy)

December 19 – Olivia’s 9th Birthday

The last minute surprise gift! She walked right past it looking for something Ben asked her to get, and was a little shocked to find this when she finally turned around . . .

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

December 26 & Jan. 1-3: Skiing at Alta and trip to Cabin

It was no more than 2 degrees, but great powder!

a touch warmer than the day after Christmas, and unbelievably refreshing . . .

I started writing this post at the beginning of January, and now it feels like it is already on its way out . . . I guess it is, with one extra long weekend to keep us from drowning.
