Dear Sam . . .

Olivia asked me to mail this sweet letter to her best friend from 2nd grade at Indian Hills (they are both at different schools now). Before I sent it off, I asked her if I could post it on the blog. Although her handwriting was better in 2nd grade, her spelling continues to amaze me. The thing I like best about this little letter, though, is the simplicity of it. Olivia used a piece of paper, a pencil, an envelope, and a stamp. I did the same thing when I was young, and Olivia's ancestors did the same thing. Sure, texting is fun and convenient, as well as immediate. Digital photography and scanning have been a huge blessing for my rushed life. But this is a treasure to me, still hopelessly sentimental.

I love this. Especially the abbreviations at the end. :)

So cute. I think handwritten letters are the best and she would be a fun pen pal to have!
