Once again, I am laughing at and being enlightened by all of the silly (and some very serious) responses to our "question of the day" over the past several months. Here are some of my favorites, verbatim:
1-10-09
What are your favorite meals?
Olivia: Chik Burgers, spaghetti, tortellini, tofu, broccoli, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes, water, quesadillas, burritos
Grace: mashed potatoes with salt & pepper, green beans with salt & pepper, tortellini, carrots, grilled cheese & tomato soup, tomatoes, apple juice, water, quesadillas, burritos, pizza, Arthur Macaroni & Cheese

1-19-09
What's a good example of being a good sport? (question by Olivia)
Grace: Get ready for the game quickly. Little kids can't run very fast, so they might trip. You have to help them win.
Isaac: Help Izabella win.
Olivia: You shouldn't blame other people for you losing a game.
Mom: Not crying and whining when the game doesn't go your way
1-20-09
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Grace: Artist and not have any babies. They hurt. Kids keep asking to buy toys.
Olivia: Top 3 - veterinarian, doctor, and teacher. I'm going to be a mom too. That's actually the very top choice.
Isaac: An artist and a dad
What is the most important thing that has happened in your life?
Grace: Earning things and getting more money
Isaac: When I get baptized
Olivia: When I got baptized
1-21-09
About School, Olivia asked: Why do you think you go to preschool? What was your favorite thing?
Olivia: It gets you ready for the rest of your school life. I liked the tricycles.
Grace: We have lots of different schools and we really have to go to a lot of them.
Then Grace asked: Why do we have to go to school?
Grace: Because you have to learn
Isaac: Because when we're grown up we have to teach our kids
1-22-09
What would you do if you were starving in the desert? (question by Olivia)
Grace: I would find edamames hiding in the ground.
Olivia: I would poke a hole in a cactus and drink cactus milk.
Isaac: Me too.
If you could invent something, what would it be?
Isaac: A robot that does my homework and my chores
Grace: Manny (that is the name of Grace's manatee Webkinz). He would go to bed when I wanted him to and listen what I say.
1-25-09
Do you think Susan and Ben are having a boy or a girl? What would you name him/her?
Olivia: Boy - Andrew
Isaac: Boy - Stewart
Grace: Boy - Stewart

What would you do if you woke up and there was a clown in your bedroom?
Olivia: I would probably just say, "Get out! This is not your house!"
Isaac: I would be scared. I would run to mom.
Grace did not like the question, and said it would be better if you woke up and someone gave you a present. I admit that it wasn't a very good question, and I can't remember how I thought of it. Personally, if I saw a clown in my bedroom when I woke up, I think I would freak out!

If you could make a store, what kind of store would you make, and what would you name it?
Olivia: It would be an anything store and I would name it "The Anything Shop". It would have a restaurant on the side.
Grace: A food store, "The Food Shop". I would sell some carrots, tomatoes, and one watermelon. Also pink star glasses and different color star glasses.
Isaac: Mine would be a sword shop. I would name it "The Sword Store". Actually, it's called "Wend Woodle". I would sell shiny swords, kid swords, stuffed animal swords, baby swords, and glasses swords (fake swords around glasses).

What's the most important thing Jesus taught?
Grace: To be friends with everyone. To hug and kiss people when they don't feel well and when they want you to and ask you to.
Olivia: He gave us life and He died for us. He taught us to be nice to each other and to be like Him.
Isaac: Don't be a bully. I am a child of God.
How do you know you are a child of God?
Olivia: I feel the spirit. When I was three in North Carolina I had a dream of Jesus and I feel that He loves me.
Isaac: I know I came from heaven.
Grace: Because God is the father of everyone. The song is called "I Am a Child of God". Sometimes God can get mad when we don't do what we're supposed to.
Why do kids like candy? (question by Grace)
Isaac: Because it is yummy
Grace: Because kids want it every single day. It tastes yummy, and feels yummy.
Olivia: Kids hear advertising and the advertising shows that it's a lot better than it really is. Grown ups know that they just want you to buy it.

Olivia: Mom
Grace: *Sunday - it's a really special day. It's always sunny.
*Someone mentioned that it actually rained on Sunday, but Grace didn't change her mind.

My favorite:
"underwear that leaves lines on me"
Me, too, Isaac; me, too.
(my mom used to always say of ornery people: "maybe their underwear is too tight.")
