If you happen to be at Utah's Hogle Zoo in the next week or so, check out the exhibit "Walk on the Wild Side", featuring art from individuals and classes from the Salt Lake City School District. The exhibit is put on by Artstream - Salt Lake City School District's Choice Initiative. The 2nd grade classes at Uintah put together an awesome piece, called "Henri Rousseau's Jungle", based on Henri Rousseau's various jungle paintings. Isaac is very proud of the oranges he made for the piece, as well as the bananas he glazed. The piece won "Best of Show" at the exhibit, and was displayed right at the front of the gallery. They had a reception the night it opened, which was basically a free private party at the zoo, including carousel and train rides. All of the art in the show was really amazing - I was so immersed in it, that I forgot to take pictures of the other pieces. We had a great time!
